Ellen rolls over!
Holy smokes! Ellen rolled over from her tummy to her back today! Ellen was getting in some "tummy time" hanging out in the living room when Chalase noticed she was pushing herself up with her arms and holding her head up very high. Then all of a sudden, bam! She rolled over! Knowing I would be skepticle, she grabbed the camera and started shooting video. And what do you know, she did it again! Sweet! On video even!

Anyway, you gotta check this out....it's neat. Link

Connor earns 2 RA legs
Sunday, 12 March 2006
Connor had a chance to particpate in the Obedience trial hosted by Twin Cities Obedience Training Club in Minneapolis this weekend. He was entered in Advanced "B" on both Saturday and Sunday and earned qualifying scores on both runs. It was Connor's first attempt at anything having to do with Rally with me as the handler and I thought he did pretty well considering my inept handling. :-) Way to go Connor...click "more" to hear about the runs. Hi run on Saturday was pretty dirty. I blew it right out of the gate when we had to do a call to front with a finish right and I wasn't clear what I wanted him to do. He ended up with a partial flip finish and I had to lure him around to the right. Ooops...my bad 3 points there. Other than that, we were docked a few points for being out of position and a couple big ones for bumping on the 270 left turns. Then at the end when we were right at the finish line I said "yea!" and he bolted for Chalase wiggling his butt. The judge too 3 point for him leaving the handler. Ooops. Overall we earned an 87. Certainly not a stellar score, but for our first try it was something to build on.

Sunday was better, but a worse score. We attended Schuntzhund training in the morning and Connor puts so much of himself into Schutahund he was totally beat by the time we got to the Rally trial. He was crashed out on the concrete floow waiting for his turn. The first exercise was over the jump and he hit the jump with his back feet. (being lazy). Boom -10 points! Yikes. Then, on the final exercise we had to do a call to front, with a finish left. Connor did a beautiful flip finish, but I made the mistake of letting him sit on the finish. Boom -10 again! Other than that, he missed a couple sits (I left before making sure he was down) and a couple bumps, but it was actually a pretty good run.

Oh well...2 can't complain about 2 qualifying scores. One to go for the RA title. Woo-hoo!
